IGP REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO GENDER RESPONSIVE POLICING - PRESENTS THE NPF GENDER POLICY TO THE POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION (PSC)
Today, Tuesday, the 29th of July, 2025, the Nigeria Police Force took a significant step towards promoting gender equality and inclusivity within the force. The presentation of the NPF Gender Policy to the Police Service Commission (PSC) management underscores the Inspector-General of Police's unwavering commitment to making the force a gender-responsive and equal opportunity institution.
In response, the Hon. Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu, Rtd, mni, assured the IGP of the commission's commitment to implementing the policy's strategic objectives. This development marks a significant milestone in the Nigeria Police Force's journey towards creating a more inclusive and equitable work environment.
Similarly, the UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ms. Beatrice Eyong, represented by Mr. Peter Mancha, reiterated UN Women's continued support for the NPF towards enhancing gender responsive security operations and broadly advancing gender equality and women's empowerment in Nigeria
The NPF remains dedicated to ensuring that its policies and practices promote gender equality, fairness, and justice, ultimately enhancing the force's effectiveness in serving the Nigerian people.
